Having a strong healthy body is important during pregnancy, we're here to help with this so you can enjoy this special time with as little discomfort as possible.
During pregnancy, the body goes through an enormous amount of change. Chiropractic can help maintain balance within the skeletal and muscular systems as your pregnancy progresses.

Chiropractic is focused on establishing optimal mechanical balance in the spine and pelvis as your baby grows. Alleviating the physical stress on the pelvis can help prevent, and ease, the pain from conditions such a pelvic girdle pain, rib pain and headaches.

We also love to help support and educate our wonderful mums to be with home exercises as well as nutritional and lifestyle advice. We're here as part of your network of support.

What can Chiropractic help with and how?

Chiropractic can help with nerve, back and joint pain during pregnancy. Chiropractic is a safe and gentle way to promote a healthy spine and pelvis as well as minimise back pain.

Our Chiropractors use modified pregnancy specific techniques, which are progressed as the pregnancy moves through the different trimesters. Pregnancy Chiropractic uses low force, spinal and pelvic manipulation. As well as muscle stretching, soft-tissue massage and trigger point therapy.

Our unique
pregnancy pillows allow the patient to be laid comfortably and supported on their tummies during the appointments.

What to expect during your first assessment?

During your first appointment with us, we'll need to ask a few questions to get to know you better. The first part of your journey is to meet our reception team and fill out one of our health questionnaires.
Once this form is complete, we will have a detailed one to one discussion with you about your pain and history of having the issue. This is then followed by discussing your lifestyle and medical history so we can get a thorough understanding of the problem.

Next is the examination, this will allow us to assess what treatment will help you return to normal. This is achieved through a combination of orthopedic and postural examinations on your spine and pelvis.

Your Chiropractor will provide a working diagnosis for your condition and can provide treatment on the day of your initial consultation if your medical history is clear for us to do so.

Further appointments are tailored to you and your condition to help get your back on your feet and feeling energised. Many of our patients feel great after a course of treatment.

Even after our patients are out of pain, many return for 'supportive care' during their pregnancy. We recommend every 4-6 weeks as a great way to maintain your quality of life and allow you to be fit and well during the later stages of pregnancy.

Further sessions

Follow up treatment sessions will allow us to reassess your spine and pelvis as you progress, this helps us to move forward with the plan for managing your pain.
During these sessions we will regularly screen your health status, screens such as taking blood pressure, discussing lifestyle choices, exercises for mobility and birth plans. All in a relaxed environment with gentle and safe chiropractic techniques.

Pregnancy discount plan

If you and your Chiropractor agree that a regular course of treatment during pregnancy is recommended, then you may be interested in our pregnancy and post pregnancy membership scheme - this allows you to pay once a month at a reduced fee for monthly pregnancy and post-natal checkups.

Please ask your chiropractor about this during your sessions.

Chiropractors education and training

Chiropractors are primary healthcare practitioners who are educated (4-5-year degree) to the highest levels in anatomy, physiology, and biomechanics, with emphasis on the muscles, joints and nervous system.
Chiropractors are statutorily regulated primary healthcare professionals, who work in the private healthcare sector and NHS settings.

We regularly attend and spend extra hours on pregnancy education and love to specialise in this area. Chiropractic is a safe and effective way of staying healthy and mobile through your pregnancy and can aid in you having a wonderful pregnancy.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us, and request a call back to speak to one of our chiropractors.
